Hi! I’m Joe and I have been working with I.H. Braga for more than 20 years.

I was born in the U.S. but moved to Canada when I was only 6 months old.  After graduating from the University of Winnipeg I moved to Portugal and have been living here ever since. I started teaching after completing my CELTA training course and since I joined IH Braga, I’ve completed the IH Certificate in Teaching Young Learners and the Cambridge DELTA. I’m also a speaking examiner for Cambridge Young Learner Exams, First, Advanced and Proficiency.

I love teaching and I really like finding out interesting things about my students.  I’ve taught all ages and levels and have found that all are challenging and fun. Also, what makes teaching at I.H. Braga so enjoyable are my colleagues and the staff in the office.  There’s a great atmosphere in the school which leads to a fun working and learning environment.

On a personal note, I’m married and have a son called Tomás. I love sport, reading and travelling (when I can). In the staffroom I’m famous for all the crazy stories I tell, and the 80s music videos I watch on Youtube.
