BeverlyDiretora Pedagógica

I left Canada in 1991 with a translation degree in my hand and began a journey that would eventually bring me to Portugal. I made a few stops along the way, including Paris, Montpellier, Pau and Madrid, where I did my DELTA while working at International House. After a year working in Lisbon, I finally made my way to Braga in September 2003 to start working as Assistant Director of Studies at IH Braga. As Director of Studies I work with Janet (our director) to make sure that everyone, both teachers and students, has the best possible experience during their time here at our school. One thing I particularly enjoy is seeing our students grow over the years as language learners and as people, and go out into the world using the skills we’ve helped them to develop. I’m a Cambridge speaking examiner for Young Learners, First and Advanced.

Outside work, I love reading, listening to music and going for walks on the beautiful beaches near Braga. I’m also developing my skills as a storyteller and am always on the lookout for new stories. So if you’ve got a question about language learning or a story to tell me, please come and see me!
