Hi, I’ve been teaching here at IH Braga for over 20 years.  I have the Cambridge CELTA, DELTA and have been a teacher trainer for CELTA courses for over 6 years now. In the summer term I’m also very busy because I’m an examiner for all the Cambridge exams and the Team Leader for Cambridge Speaking examiners in Braga and Porto.

I was born in Windsor, Canada, right across the US border.  That’s why so many people think I’m American when they first hear me speak.  I’ve lived here, in Portugal, for over 30 years – yes, quite a long time – but I’ve always felt at home.  What I most love about Braga is its location, with the hills and all the greenery surrounding it.  Oh, and my little dog Maggie, of course.  In my free time I love to read, cook and learn about other languages and cultures.  What I most love about teaching at IH Braga is the range of different people I work with and being able to see their progress.  It’s very satisfying to know that I’ve helped in some way.
